Nicotinamide – a brand new approach to slow down vision loss

Glaucomin High Strength Nicotinamide Capsules are for daily use for people with early to moderate glaucoma.

Interesting and new treatment options for glaucoma are currently being investigated in an ongoing clinical trial spanning seven hospital eye clinics.

Why should you take nicotinamide?

Researchers have found that lower nicotinamide levels are more common in glaucoma patients, making the cells in the retina slower to produce energy, use oxygen and eventually more likely to die.

Combined with an age-related increase in eye pressure, this can lead to reduced vision and glaucoma.

Taking one Glaucomin capsule twice a day can boost nicotinamide levels and reverse this process.

Glaucomin capsules have been developed using guidance from clinical ophthalmologists working alongside a pharmaceutical company that specialises in eye health products. They are dedicated to enhancing patient well-being by reviewing cutting-edge research to expand into new product areas, treating conditions such as dry-eye, infections, inflammation, glaucoma and eye health nutrition.

What is nicotinamide?

Glaucomin is vitamin B3 in a form that is only nicotinamide. Vitamin B3 contributes to normal functioning of the nerves in your body.

At present, Glaucomin is the highest strength nicotinamide B3 product available in the UK market.

The recommended dose is one capsule containing 750mg every morning and evening.

Are there any side effects or cautions?

Occasionally, Glaucomin may cause a mild stomach upset such as nausea, vomiting or diarrhoea. This may be prevented by taking each capsule with a meal.

It is not recommended for use by anyone with a cancer diagnosis in the last 5 years (except treated basal or squamous cell carcinomas), liver disease or stomach ulcers.

The capsules are suitable for vegan and vegetarians.

Prevention is better than cure

If you are worried about your eye pressures, family history or developing glaucoma, then nicotinamide is a low risk vitamin supplement that is already showing great promise in this area.
