Thealoz Duo Gel
Two natural eye lubricants, trehalose and sodium hyaluronate, are combined together in a thick gel as preservative-free single dose vials.
Consumer Leaflets
As in Thealoz Duo, this gel version contains both trehalose (as in Thealoz) and sodium hyaluronate (as in Hyabak) with added Carbomer to make the liquid gel formulation.
The thicker preservative-free, gel formulation can give longer lasting relief and is often preferred by people for night time use. It can be used in conjunction with any other eye drops to address different needs throughout the day.
Thealoz Duo Gel works by adding moisture to hydrate and lubricate the surface of the eye, as well protecting the cells of the cornea and conjunctiva, giving resistance to dryness. This makes it the perfect for choice for all dry eye sufferers.
The drops can be applied as often as necessary throughout the day.

These eyedrops aren't cheap... £13.00 for 30 vials, so if a regular application that's approximately £156.00 per year.
You are instructed to drop one drop in each eye then discard the container 'even if there is some solution left'. This practice sees you discarding as much as you have used. A significant waste of eyedrops and a huge amount of plastic waste... 265 vials per year.
I also had a problem when twisting the top off. This leaves sharp plastic barbs which then poke you in the eye when you try to apply the drops.
Once applied, I'll accept the drops are very effective, but Thea Pharmaceuticals really need to address the wastage and the application.

I find this product excellent overnight, and good also for daytime use when my eyes are especially dry. The individual units are useful for delivery on the go, but Id like an option for a tube or other method overnight.

Use these at night. They are excellent. The recommendation I have been given by my consultant is the drops during the day (3 to 4) and these gel drops which will go through to the next day for complete effectiveness
