This is the mildest mascara in the range, hypo-allergenic and free from known irritants such as nickel, chrome and parabens. If you have very sore eyes or lids, try this mascara first.

As well as being paraben-free and fragrance-free, this gentle mascara is rich in vitamins A, B & E and gives a discreet, natural makeup finish.

Its special brush smoothes lashes and deposits just the right amount of mascara to intensify the eyes.

All the hypo-allergenic Eye Care Cosmetics mascaras are ultra-micronised to avoid risk of irritation and all packs, brushes (guaranteed nickel-free) and applicators sterilised before packing, to guarantee maximum safety during usage. Particularly suitable for contact lens wearers.

    Drys lashes no coverage

    Out of desperation after awful MGD journey i chose this mascara

    Its awful for lashes, brittle and doesnt even come out of tube anywhere near wet

    I guessed this is the difference between my usual tubing mascara and a’specialist MGD mascara’

    Out of desperation again ive ordered another MGD treatment for lashes and 2 days in too early to comment

    Im being honest, sadly this mascara is a non starter

    I am sorry to read of your disappointment with the Gentle Mascara.
    I can see that in February you purchased a high tolerance mascara. Thank you for ordering a Meiboclean, I hope this helps.

    When switching from other mascara brands, there is a balance to be made.
    Hopefully, there was no irritation.

    We have approached the French pharmacist formulators of Eye Care Cosmetics.
    The products are considered fully compliant with the manufacturing company’s quality standards.

    ‘Our mascara containers are specifically designed so that the wiper removes excess product from the brush before application.
    This system helps prevent an overload of formula, which is particularly important for users with sensitive eyes, and limits any risk of mascara migrating into the eyes.’
    I judge the coverage by checking my lashes rather the brush.

    Don’t like the smell

    I was very excited to try this mascara after not being able to wear any for a long time due to blepharitis. It went on very thinly, which was fine, but the smell is not nice and actually felt irritating. Almost like a bad fat smell is the only way I can describe it. Is this smell normal for this range?

    Thank you for purchasing a Gentle Mascara from one of our optical stockists.
    There is a balance to be made between excluding irritating ingredients that add perfume and hold to a mascara.
    If you are moving from traditional cosmetics, the earthy smell does take a bit of getting used to, as most mascaras are highly perfumed.

    A minimal amount of allergen-free perfume is used in some Eye Care Cosmetics (the compositions/ingredients used do not contain any of the declarable allergens according to the 7th amendment to the European Cosmetics Directive of 2003).

    Luckily we have a range of mascaras that improve in hold and performance, if your eyes can tolerate them. You have chosen the mildest option first which is sensible.
    The next one up is the High Tolerance then the Volumising one is the one I wear now my eyes have settled down. I find it gives great volume, lift and colour.

    I do hope this reassures you and we can help you to find your perfect mascara.
